This is a story of two neighboring families set in Kolkatta, one a conservative, traditional Marwadi family which is Ragini's family and the other an effervescent, liberal Bengali Family which is Swara's family, who have a very different set of value systems.

Ragini and her father fall on Dadi's feet to beg for money. Meanwhile, Adarsh calls Sanskar's mother in front of him and Annapurna. And Sanskaar's mother tells Adarsh that she has got one crore rupees and asks him to send the remaining nine crores quickly. Sanskaar gets shocked on listening to her mother saying so. On the other hand, Dadi gives Ragini and her father the money but she puts forward some conditions to which they agree. Later, Dadi challenges Swara that now Ragini and her father will never listen to her. She even claims that she has separated Ragini and Swara permanently from each other.
